Today, if you would hear His voice,,

Today, if you would hear His voice,,

Sometimes there are days when I would just like to say enough is enough for a while and that I would much rather be far away in a different place where I can avoid contact with most people. I would rather go where nature abounds and the world, so to speak, vanishes for a lengthy period.

Like all men, I become weary from the constant evil that we’re surrounded by and immersed in, from the constant lies that swirl above our heads and from the shaky foundations that we all stand upon. Ah, such is the life that we are born into and unfortunately, depart when our life ceases to exist.

A planet in a solar system that we call earth is our home and we have neighbors, but whether they contain life or not remains to be seen. We send probes out to the farthest extremes of our technological capabilities and set rovers and other equipment on planets, moons, and asteroids to determine their makeup and to provide information pertaining to our existence. And what have we learned? Everything and nothing at all other than the fact that we are, at present, the only life forms in our planetary system.

Meanwhile, on the only known planet that harbors life, we are busily exterminating it and ourselves by association! I am not even going to begin to list the things we do because I would need thousands of pages and years of writing and to what avail? The man has not cared and he won’t now! We live in the present as we plan for the future that has not yet appeared and boast of the past that we refuse to learn from and it almost seems as though we’re just rocking back and forth on the wooden horse!

But I am glad that there is a God who knows what is happening and has set limits on just how far things are going to go. He knows the heart of man and his ways because He created the man, followed by the woman and he has set times and seasons in place and has said, “here, and no further” to man’s ambitions of eternal life through AI and trans-humanistic theology.

He has set limits as to how far the man will rule and then declared that His Son, Jesus will rule over mankind and that is something the heart of man violently contends against, but what does God, the Father have to say about the rebellious man?

Why do the nations rage and the people plot in vain? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together against the Lord and against His Christ, saying, “Let us break Their bands asunder and cast away Their cords from us.” He who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord scoffs at them.

Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, and in His fury He terrifies them. “Yea, I have set My king upon Zion, My holy mountain.”

I will declare the decree of the Lord. He has said to Me, ‘You are My Son; this day I have begotten You. Ask of Me, and I shall give the nations for Your inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for Your possession. You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.’ ”

Now therefore be wise, O kings; be admonished, O judges of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest He be angry and you perish in the way, for His wrath can flame up in a moment. Blessed are all who take refuge in Him. Psalm 3

These words are not accepted by the overwhelming majority of the human population, preferring instead their own version of sovereignty and modern slavery and rule by the hand of their “elected” officials!” And you know where that takes us! Chaos with more to come!

The truth is that when the first man Adam chose to rebel against his Creator, he opened the door to a lawless future because the word sin simply means breaking the law. As a result, what you see is the outcome of lawless living under the hand of sinful man. Human rights have replaced the laws of God and those rights are wide open to interpretation on an “almost anything” goes platform. From a woman’s right to murder her unborn child to same-sex “marriages” to children’s rights and unto the right to bomb another country into ruin based on perceived threats or concocted evidence. You name it and they will find a way to legalize it under international norms. So is the way of man in this corrupt world we live in. A world filled with false gods and demonic entities who work against man even as he works against God. Actually, it’s like sitting on a limb that you are trimming only to have someone behind you saw the limb off!

It would be funny if it wasn’t so deadly because that is what sin does, it kills.

Almost all churches that claim the Christian faith have effectively denied law keeping as having been done away with through the sacrifice of God’s Son, but that is just wishful and wicked thinking because if the laws had been done away with, then we wouldn’t be standing here today. Jesus Himself kept the Father’s laws as did His disciples and their followers until the church at Rome canceled them, forcing the churches to follow the Doctrines being established by them and today, they still obey the Roman Catholic Church including all mainstream Protestant churches and their offshoots.

The word in use today to explain their law breaking is called grace and it covers more than 90% of all churches who claim to be followers of Christ, but in truth are followers of pagan grounded traditions and theological misinterpretations of Scripture. And why? Because they are not able to discern the truths contained therein or are unwilling to let go of the lies they cling to.

Of course, I would be accused of heresy and misinterpretation, the usual game of trying to outgun the opponent through verse application and “godly humiliation!” But that is not even going to be applied here, just simply putting forth what the Bible itself teaches and what most would prefer to ignore.

I was reading an article today in the Daily Caller, a boulevard newspaper that told of some Chinese archaeologists who have purportedly found Noah’s Ark, again, and as I was reading the comments, they were all very scornful and mocking! It seems that even mentioning the possibility of finding proof of the Bible’s truth’s is enough to send many into furious tirades which rail against the Living God and His Son!

Has the world become so full of evil and hate that they cannot bear to even hear the words of Scripture anymore, but have taken refuge in lies and crushing immorality? Especially in England which has now become the cesspool of all religions and her ministers are servants of sin? And what of other Christian founded nations, where are they standing today? They’re not, but they are all falling headlong, no, excuse me, racing into sin just as fast as their feet can carry them!

But what of their preachers and ministers and reverends and vicars and bishops? They have all gone astray and there is not one who does righteousness for IF THEY HAD DONE RIGHTEOUSNESS, then those nations would still be standing on their foundations, but they’re not! They have all pursued after vanity and pronounced lies in the Name of God and are serving themselves platters heaped with self-righteous words and sugarcoated sins and glazed over with soothing words of grace!

This is what is left of the Christian nations who have turned their backs on the Living God:

  • Multiculturalism
  • Sex same “marriages”
  • Feminism
  • Abortion on demand
  • Accepting false gods
  • Promoting humanism
  • Casting aside the Laws of God
  • Human rights
  • Tolerance of evil
  • Rejecting the good
  • An overly sickening love of wealth
  • The expansion of poverty
  • National debts that can not be repaid
  • Thoroughly corrupt from top to bottom
  • Whoredoms sweeping the lands

If I forgot to mention something, I’m sure you’ll remember! These are all signs of nations in decay based upon the rejection of God’s laws and commandments! But who is listening anymore? None! They have all gone the way of sin for it is pleasurable for a season, until sickness sets in and begins to gnaw at their innards and claw at their minds as it devours those who have given themselves over to it. But will they repent? From what, they would ask? I’ve done no wrong says the adulteress as she wipes her mouth or the foolish man who leaves her bedside, not realizing that an arrow is embedded in his liver!

The price of sin or rebellion is death to those who walk in it and remain in it, and there are no exits once a man’s heart is fixed on practicing evil as you all may be witnesses of except by lethal injection.

But God has nonetheless provided a way for us to escape the chains that bind us and yet most will not take a hold of His gracious offer that His Son provided on the cross two thousand years ago by bearing our sins and paying the ultimate price and why did He do it?

Because God so loved the world (mankind) that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever should believe on Him would have eternal life and forgiveness of sins! The Son of God died for you and me, one time for all time if you would believe! But will you? Not if you listen to the carnal mindset that we all have!

And that is the biggest obstacle that stands between God and us, the carnal mind that refuses to believe and is thus blinded by sin and lies. Oh yes, we may think that we are living good lives, that is, until we place them against His laws and commandments and then we realize just how filthy our righteousness is and how very tiny we are. It takes a man of insane stupidity to think that he can disregard his Creator in light of all the evidence provided and claim that there is no God, but what says God?

The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, and have worked out abominable wickedness; there is no one who does good. God looked down from heaven upon the children of men to see if there were any who understand, who are seeking after God. Everyone has turned away; they have altogether become corrupt; no one is doing good, no, not even one.

Will the workers of iniquity never learn? They eat up my people as they eat bread; they have not called upon God. There they were in great fear where no fear was, for God has scattered the bones of him who camps against you; you have put them to shame because God has rejected them.

Oh, that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! When God brings back His people out of exile, let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad. Psalm 53

There is truth in those words and we would do well to listen because there is a God and we all will see Him and have to give an account of our lives to Him. He is the Creator of all things and that includes you and I and our opinions mean absolutely nothing on that great and terrible day of accountability. We are flesh and blood and He is eternal! That is a difference that we should take into consideration when we open our mouths and talk ignorance and put on the show that our families and friends are accustomed to!

We have a limited time on this earth and we would do well to remember that, but we don’t care to remember as we live the life we choose, doing what we want to and sleeping with whom we choose, eating what we want and so on. It’s called careless living on measured time and when the time runs out, so has the opportunity to repent and receive the grace of God offered through His Son, Jesus the Christ. There are no more chances, no second calls, no hope if you died without Christ.

There remains only the wrath of the Father as Peter warned us in his epistle, saying, “But the present heavens and earth are being held in store by His Word, and are being reserved for fire in the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.”

So we have the ungodly as opposed to the godly and I would ask you this; On which side do you want to be? A fool would dabble with an answer, but a wise man would be forthcoming and show his wisdom by choosing the godly. And if that be the choice, then the Lord’s death and resurrection would be his salvation. It can be that simple or we could choose our pride and rebellion and die in the end.

Have you ever thought of your accomplishments and what they brought you? Fame and fortune or just hard-earned experience?

How many wives or husbands have you had since leaving school and the wreckage of broken hearts left behind? Oh yes, they leave a trail just as the muddy tracks across a white tile floor and the messes never get cleaned up as memories follow you from one relationship to the next, a baggage train or ball and chain for all to see! A never ending saga of loves gone wrong, so when does the next one begin?

But all that and much more can change IF YOU ARE WILLING to come to the One who can change you, beginning from the heart and working outward, but YOU need to make the decision to come to Him even as He calls you! All too often, people will wait until their lives are in ruins and the light of hope is fading before they make a tentative step to accept Him as their Savior, but sadly enough, many revert to old habits, eventually returning to their vomit as would the dog or the sow to the mire after cleansing.

Still, others hold firm, recognizing the call of a Christian is a life-long dedication and daily commune with the Son of God and keeping oneself cleaned of sin through daily repentance. It is in His Word and if we are to call ourselves His followers then we need to act as such and stop behaving as the world does!

To claim to be a follower and yet not know His written Word is like believing the pastor of a local church when he tells you that Jesus is calling you to give him your money so that he doesn’t have to work! And many do just that! It is incredible just how far the people are willing to go to listen to lies and believe them! Nowhere in the Scriptures are the people commanded to pay for laziness and even Paul warned them not to live off the believers but to earn their bread with their own hands.

However, if the Pastor is laboring for the Gospel and serving the flock and caring for it, that is another matter, then we are to support him, but then again, not if they have become busybodies and are entangled in the things of the world. The Gospel and the flock outweigh any financial gains a pastor may seek through fame, and unfortunately many do to their shame.

Paul lays out the criteria for supporting a Shepherd who is doing the work of the Lord:

Am I not an Apostle? Am I not free? Have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? Are you not my work in the Lord? If I am not an apostle to others, without a doubt I am to you. For you are the certification of my apostleship in the Lord. My defense o those who are examining me is this: Do we not have a right to eat and drink? Do we not have a right to take with us a sister, a wife, as also other apostles, and the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas? (that is, Peter) Or I only and Barnabas, do we not have a right to refrain from working?

Does anyone at anytime serve as a soldier at his own expense? Does anyone plant a vineyard and not eat the fruit of it? Or does anyone shepherd a flock and not eat the meat and milk from the flock? Am I saying these things merely from a human point of view? Or does not the law say the same things?

For it is written in the law of Moses, “You shall not muzzle the ox that is treading out the corn.” Is it because God is concerned for oxen? Or does He not certainly say this for our sakes? For our sakes it was written, so that the one who plows might plow in hope, and the one who threshes the corn in hope might be partaker of his hope. If we have sown to you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your physical things? If others participate in this authority over you, much more surely should not we? Nevertheless, we have not used this authority; but have endured all things, so that we might not hinder the gospel of Christ.

Don’t you know that those who are laboring in the sacred things of the temple live of the things of the temple, and those who are ministering at the altar are partakers with the altar? In the same way also, the Lord did command that those who preach the gospel are to live of the gospel.

1 Corinthians 9: 1-14

And again; Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you withdraw from every brother who is walking irresponsibly and not according to the ordinance that he received from us. For you yourselves understand that you should do exactly as we have done because we have not behaved irresponsibly among you. Nor did we eat food at someone else’s expense, but we were working day and night with labor and toil so that we would not be burdensome to anyone among you.

We were not obligated to work because we did not have authority to receive from you; rather, we chose to work in order that we might personally give you a pattern to imitate.

For indeed, when we were with you, this is what we commanded you: that if anyone is not willing to work, he should not be allowed to eat. For we hear that some among you are walking irresponsibly, not working at all, but are behaving as busybodies. As for such individuals, we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ that with quietness they work in order that they may eat their own food. But you, brethren, do not lose heart in well doing.

Now if anyone does not obey our word by this epistle, take notice of that man and do not associate with him so that he may be ashamed. But do not count him as an enemy; rather, admonish him as a brother.

2 Thessalonians 3: 6-15

So what is the work of a shepherd? If you have ever seen them looking after their flocks, then you know, if not, then I’ll tell you. A shepherd stands guard among the flock and watches over them. He is constantly keeping an eye out for wolves and bears and thieves. He leads them to fresh water and green grass and when they wander off, he goes after them to bring them back to the flock. He tends to the sick and weak, young and old and teaches them to know his voice and to follow him as he leads them to different pastures, stave always at the ready and when the storms come, he provides shelter.

What is the work of a worthless shepherd? He does not look after the flock nor keep watch for wolves and bears and thieves. He does not tend to the sick and weary nor the young or old. If they wander off, he will not go after them and he will not lead them to fresh water and green grass but leaves them wandering alone in search of forage. When the storms come, he will run for shelter, leaving the flock exposed. When they are injured, he will not heal them and when they cannot keep up with the others, he will abandon them.

Now compare the work of the shepherd to the work of those who call themselves pastors and judge for yourselves if you have a servant of God among you or a hireling.

A man called of God to be your shepherd will be among you and look after you. He will tend to the sick and weak, young and old. He will go after those who have wandered away and will bring them back. He will heal those who have suffered injuries and he will go out into the storms to bring back the scattered flock. He will feed the flock with God’s Words and none other and he will defend the flock against false teachings and those who call themselves apostles but are not. He will not entangle himself with the ways of the world.

What works accompany those who profess themselves to be shepherds but aren’t? They seek their own glory through the promotion of their books and songs. They send others to look after the flock. They care not what happens as long as they receive their meat, blood, wool, and milk on time. They speak of wonderful things and how much God loves them even as they scatter them and sow confusion. They are too busy to tend to the sick and weak, old and young as they write their newest sermon and books and fly from one appointment to the other. They love to be recognized and demand secular titles and call themselves anointed. They are self-serving and vain and have little time for others if there is no profit involved. They love to be in control and live in comfort while the flock suffers.

That is the difference between a shepherd and the hireling. What do you have?

So even as this world immerses itself deeper into sin and wickedness, the shepherds who are called of God, and who are to be found, will preach the truth, come what may. They look after the flocks, feeding them the Words of God despite calls for tolerance and social acceptance of perversion. They will hold their ground even as others run to conformity and appeasement. And because the leaders have given themselves over to the pleasures of sin and profit, the Lord God has rejected those who lord over the flocks and has raised up other shepherds who do not care for the sins of the world nor pursue its wealth and vanities.

These shepherds do not live for the world though part of it and they scorn offers of self-aggrandizement and reject lavish salaries. They hold firm the oracles of Christ and His apostles, looking forward to the far greater reward of their heavenly calling while living in humble conditions here. They know that they are mere sojourners and pilgrims and they love the flocks and are prepared to give their lives to protect them.

That is how much you are worth to the Great Shepherd, the Lord Jesus Christ and to those shepherds sent to bring in the lost to Him. So, before you walk away laughing in your hearts and scorning His great love and mercy, consider this; You have lived unto this moment in time, where will you be in the next? Death can come at any time, any place, any second, you just don’t know when your time is up. Are you willing to play Russian Roulette with your soul?
